ABOUT

My name is Demi Katsuragi, a digital illustrator mostly common on working on related anime, especially V-Tubers. I am from the Philippines, which you can guess; I can speak fluently English and our own language (Tagalog). I am mostly active in X (also known as Twitter) and Pixiv, where you can discover my art and daily life updates.

Story

...an Artist?
- I've been an artist for almost three years now. I committed to being an artist when I started in college because I needed to find a way to earn my own cash and pay my own tuition so my parents could focus on our younger siblings tuition. Of course I need to find a way to support myself without relying too much on my parents.
...drawing for?
- I started drawing when I was still an elementary student. I began my passion for drawing when I touched a pen and started drawing what I really like. I used to draw traditionally, then moved on digitally to finally achieve my desires of being an artist. When I became a high school student, that's where I became more invested in drawing a lot of things. Non-stop drawing behind a notebook while not listening to our teacher was a great memory of mine.
...working as an artist?
- Almost a year in a half now. I started doing commissions late because I had this fear because I don't have broad knowledge or handling of this business. Clearly, to summarize, I don't know what I was doing.
...studying art?
- Same as when I entered college, so three years. I don't go to an art school course or don't have any experience going one. I only studied by myself by watching a simple guide and tutorial online that are free. I rarely watch any tutorials though, because for me, the way I gain my points on increasing my skill level is by only studying visually. I try replicating what I see and learn through it.
...what is your gauge skill level?
- Mid-level based on my quality of my own art; well, I'm not sure, but it's surely above amateur level. I'm still not a great artist, though. I still have a lot to learn, especially anatomy. I still need to improve my art style and rendering. There's still way long to go, but I will not stop and learn more things to improve my art so my clients are satisfied with the quality of my art.
